Today I got to conduct a brief interview with actress Pam Rose, who played Leesub Sirln, aka "Weird Girl" from the Mos Eisley Cantina!

How did you end up playing a background character in the Mos Eisley Cantina?
"I was sent by my agent. I had no idea which part I would play."

What was your experience like on the set of Star Wars?
"I was on set for five days and spent two hours in make-up every morning. It took one hour after shooting to remove it, and it was quite an experience. The worst part was getting the original full head cast. It was like being buried alive.

When the film was being made, we never realized how popular it would become."

What’s it like to go to conventions and meet the Star Wars fans?
"Going to the conventions has been wonderful. It wasn't until 2005 that I started doing them, as I was running a London casino for twenty years. I rejoined my old agent and she started passing on fan mail. I’ve gotten to meet people I haven’t seen for thirty odd years."

Leesub Sirln was recently released as an action figure by Hasbro! How do you feel about that? Did you ever expect that character to be so exciting?
"Never would I have imagined having a toy released, and they have changed my name three times. Luckily it can’t talk."

What do you think is the very best thing about Star Wars?
"Having worked on Space 1999, Star Wars was so advanced. I loved it."

What have you been doing since Star Wars? Can we look for you in any other movies?

I’ve had a varied career. I’ve trained as a chef, became a model, been an air hostess, and worked in casinos. The only thing I’ll admit I’m no good at is swimming."
